A man has been found dead on a busy high street in 'unexplained' circumstances.
We previously reported that the area was locked down by cops for several hours due to a 'police incident'.
The junction of the A806 which leads to the A803 in Kirkintilloch was shut on Sunday morning and has since reopened.
Now, cops have revealed that they were called to a report of an injured man on West High Street at around 2am on Sunday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are treating his death are unexplained and a report is being sent to the procurator fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.05am on Sunday, January 28, 2024 police were called to a man having been found injured on West High Street, Kirkintilloch.
“Officers attended and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
