A man has been viciously attacked in a targeted incident.
The 47-year-old was set upon shortly before midnight last Wednesday, January 24 in Hamilton.
He was assaulted on Strathaven Road near its junction with Mill Road.
Emergency services rushed the victim to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital following the shocking incident.
Meanwhile, cops have been investigating the violent attack and they believe the man was deliberately sought out.
They are urging any witnesses or anyone who may have driven by at the time to get in touch.
Detective Constable Robert McKinstray, from Cambuslang CID, said: “This appears to have been a targeted attack, which left the victim with serious injuries.
“I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed what happened, or anyone with information on the incident, to please contact police.
“I would also urge any motorists who were travelling through that area and may have dashcam footage from around the time of the incident to please come forward.”
