The official mascot for the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow was designed by a pupil from Crookston Primary School.

Scottee the Scottish Terrier was also the face of the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 2019.

He now steps up to represent the world stage, complete with a custom uniform sporting the event logo and a new pair of trainers gifted by World Athletics partner, ASICS.

Billy Garrett, director of Tourism, Culture and Events at Glasgow Life and joint chair of the Local Organising Committee, said: "Spectator experience is a massive part of any major event, and we are delighted to be able to secure the services of Scottee ahead of the World Athletics Indoor Championships next month.

“We’re expecting three days of unmissable, world class action, but it’s also important to ensure we have a world class experience for spectators off the track and we have no doubt Scottee will be a hit with the fans, working alongside our fantastic event presentation team.”

The championship is set to take place over three days from March 1 to 3.

Glasgow Times: Scottee will be journeying around the city this month

For those unable to make it to the race, Scottee will be journeying around the city this month. He will make his debut appearance at the opening of the Museum of World Athletics (MOWA) exhibition at Glasgow’s St Enoch Centre on February 2.

The event will see athletes battling it out for the final few slots in the championship.
