A MUSIC icon has cancelled his upcoming concert in Glasgow.
Give Me the Night hitmaker, George Benson was set to perform at the city's Royal Concert Hall on Monday, July 1.
However, today (Friday, February 1), the venue has revealed the star will no longer be hosting the show.
Taking to social media, The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall said: "George Benson's concert at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on July 1, 2024 has unfortunately been cancelled.
"Ticketholders will receive refunds in the next few working days.
"Promoter statement: 'Unfortunately, on Doctors advice and due to ill health, George Benson’s UK tour has had to be cancelled.
"It’s the end of a lifetime of bringing the unique music of GEORGE BENSON internationally.
"With a heavy heart, GEORGE has taken the advice of his doctors to stop touring internationally.
"The strain of long-distance travel has now been deemed too much for GEORGE.
"We are desperately sorry to disappoint all of his fans, but he has to take the advice given.
"Refunds available from your point of purchase'."
