A MANHUNT has been launched for three thugs who attacked a man in Cumbernauld last week.
Officers say the incident took place on the footpath near to Glenacre Road in the town on Friday, February 2, at around 6.30pm.
During the disturbance, three men approached a 26-year-old man and seriously assaulted him.
The young man was then rushed to hospital with serious facial injuries.
Following the horror attack, the culprits, who were wearing dark-coloured clothing and had their hoods up, ran off towards Langlands Place.
Police have been checking for any relevant CCTV footage for additional information on the suspects.
However, they are also urging anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Constable Glenn Coletta said: "A young man has sustained serious injuries and it's vital we establish the full circumstances and trace those responsible.
"I would ask anyone who was in Glenacre Road or Langlands Place to think back and consider if they noticed the three men, or anything odd or suspicious. Similarly, if anyone has dash cam or doorbell equipment, please review the footage as bring anything of significance to our attention."
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 3073 of February 2.
Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 1111 where information can be given anonymously.
