AN appeal has been launched after a black cat was found abandoned in Glasgow.
The Scottish SPCA say a member of the public found the male feline on Friday, February 2 at a block of flats at Dumbreck Court.
Following that, the animal was handed into the charity's Glasgow Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.
Now, the SPCA are appealing for information on the cat.
Sian Robertson, Scottish SPCA Inspector, said: “The black male cat was found outside a block of flats and a member of the public kindly took the cat to one of our centres.
“Leaving animals outside in cold weather for a number of hours in a cat carrier will cause them significant distress.
"We appreciate that whoever left this cat may have intended for him to be found but this is not the correct way to give up a pet if you can no longer care for them.
“The cat is now being cared for at our animal rescue and rehoming centre.
“If anyone recognises this cat or has any information surrounding his circumstances, they should call the Scottish SPCA confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
