A woman has been left 'distraught' after a shocking attack by two other women.
The 47-year-old victim was walking along Hill Street in Hamilton at 7.30pm on Tuesday, February 6 when the incident unfolded.
Two women dressed in dark clothing approached her, threatened her and stole personal items from her.
Her phone was taken, as well as a three-figure sum of cash.
Detectives are now on the hunt for the brazen pair, who spoke with local accents.
Detective Constable Ross Kirkland said: “Fortunately the woman was not badly injured and did not require medical treatment but she has been left distraught and very upset by what has happened.
“I am asking anyone who was in the area at the time and might have seen what happened to get in touch, particularly if you have dash-cam that could assist our enquiries.
“In addition, if you live in the area please check and if you have private CCTV footage that could help then please make contact.”
Anyone who can help is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0412 of Wednesday, February 8, 2024, or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
