A man has been rushed to hospital after falling from a building site.
The incident occurred on South Bridge Street in Airdrie shortly before 1pm this afternoon.
999 crews raced to the scene and a 74-year-old was taken to hospital to be treated.
His current status is not known.
The road is still closed while enquiries are carried out.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were made aware of a 74-year-old man having fallen from a scaffolding while working on South Bridge Street in Airdrie around 12.45pm on Wednesday, 7 February.
“The man has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.
“The road has been closed to allow emergency services access.
“Enquiries are ongoing and the Health and Safety Executive has been made aware.”T
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 12:26 to attend an incident on South Bridge Street, Airdrie.
"An ambulance, trauma team and special operations resource teams (SORT) were dispatched to the scene and one patient was transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow.”
