An East End 'favourite' has been named the best pub in Glasgow by industry experts.

The Glasgow Bar Awards brought the city's hospitality industry together for a third year to toast another successful year. 

Over 300 people turned up to Saint Luke's for a celebration of the best spots in Glasgow, with awards being handed out to crown the best bar, pub, team, drink and more.

Among the winners was Dennistoun pub Redmond's, which beat stiff competition from the likes of Ben Nevis, Malones, The Bon Accord, The Laurieston and The Pot Still to be crowned best pub in the city. 

Beloved by locals, the friendly pub serves up classic cocktails and simple pints, runs a famous pub quiz and offers vinyl DJ sets on weekends. 

From sky-high cocktail bars to neighbourhood locals, winners were chosen by peer voting, narrowed down from a Top Six in each category, to be crowned the very best of Glasgow venues. 

The biggest award of the evening, Best Bar, went to Jack's Bar located in the Dakota Hotel on West Regent Street. 

Alex Riches, Co-Founder of Backs! Hospitality which ran the awards and operations manager of Saint Luke’s said: “What an incredible night!

"We welcomed over 300 of the city’s top hospitality industry, to raise a glass to all their achievements from the past year.

"2024 saw some of our toughest categories yet, with venues raising the bar across every aspect of the competition. 

“A huge congrats to all our well-deserved winners, finalists and venues - we hope the awards will encourage the public to get out and try somewhere new this year, support local bars and pubs, and potentially find their new favourite spot.”
