Scottish actress and X Factor finalist Melanie Masson will join the cast of An Officer And A Gentleman The Musical in its UK tour at The King’s Theatre, Glasgow.
The musical will take place from March 5 to 9.
Ms Masson grew up in Cathcart and was mentored by Take That's Gary Barlow on the ninth series of The X Factor.
In An Officer And A Gentleman, she plays the role of Esther Pokrifki, performing alongside Luke Baker, Georgia Lennon, Jamal Crawford, Paul French, and Sinead Long, amongst others.
Other names in the cast include Tim Rogers, Olivia Foster-Browne, and Lucas Piquero.
Chris Breistein, Wendi Harriott, James Wilkinson-Jones, Danny Whelan, Julia Jones, Etisyai Philip, Mia Harrison, Lukin Simmonds, Will May, and Ellie Grace Cousins round out the line-up.
Based on the award-winning 80s movie which starred Richard Gere, the musical tells the tale of a young fearless officer candidate, Zack Mayo, and the fiery Paula Pokrifki.
The show also has a hit soundtrack featuring Madonna, Bon Jovi, Cyndi Lauper, and Blondie, and includes the award-winning (Love Lift Us) Up Where We Belong.
An Officer And A Gentleman The Musical is directed by Nikolai Foster, designed by Michael Taylor, choreographed by Joanna Goodwin, musical supervision and orchestration by George Dyer, lighting by Ben Cracknell, sound by Tom Marshall, wig, hair and make up by Sam Cox, musical direction by Christopher Duffy, and casting by Debbie O’Brien.
The production is a collaboration between Jamie Wilson, Jack Maple, Gavin Kalin, and Jason Haigh-Ellery, in association with Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros Theatre Ventures.
