Four people, including three teenagers, have been charged after an alleged Glasgow slashing on Bonfire Night.

As the Glasgow Times told at the time, two groups of youths reportedly began fighting and throwing fireworks at each other in the Quarrywood Avenue area of Barmulloch.

An alleged slashing took place and one person was hospitalised.

At the Springburn and Barmulloch Area Partnership meeting this week, Police Scotland gave a verbal update on the investigation.

They confirmed that four people, including three teenagers, were arrested in connection with the alleged incident.

The two boys, aged 16 and 17 and a 17-year-old girl were charged in connection with assaults.

Inspector Colin MacLucas confirmed that the force is developing a multi-agency plan to address youth disorder in the area.

A 40-year-old woman was also arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault.

On the night, specialist teams were dispatched across the city to deal with the "unprecedented" levels of violence and disorder.

We also reported that a North Glasgow shop owner told of his horror as a large group gathered in front of his business and a fight broke out, prompting his staff to call 999.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Five people have been charged following bonfire night disorder in Quarrywood Avenue, Glasgow.

"Three male teenagers, one aged 16 and two aged 17, and a 17-year-old female youth were charged in connection with assaults.

"A 40-year-old woman was arrested and charged in connection with a serious assault.

"The woman is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date.

"Reports for each have been sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

"Enquiries remain ongoing."
