A new dog boarding and daycare centre could open in Bearsden if a planning application is successful.
East Dunbartonshire Council will assess a planning application from dog care business Lola’s Country Club concerning Cochno Town Farm on Cochno Road East. The firm proposes new kennels and a daycare centre for dogs.
Documents provided with the application explain that the applicant believes the farm is ideal for this type of business as it is centrally located but secluded and local demand for these services is high, due to many people getting dogs during the pandemic but now returning to their normal routines.
The applicant also describes several improvements which will be made to the run-down farm, such as specially designed fields for pet owners to rent. An indoor exercise area for dogs is also planned.
The business plan states that there are no dog daycare centres within five miles while the closest kennels have waiting lists, while they also have potential customers waiting to use their facilities as soon as they open.
Prices stated in the business plan would be £25 per day for daycare, £35 per night for boarding and field rental at £7 for 30 minutes.
