THE closure of a busy road near Glasgow has been extended due to 'unforeseen issues'.
East Dunbartonshire Council has said that the current road closure at Canniesburn Toll in Bearsden will remain in place until 6pm on Monday, March 11.
The local authority revealed it has been extended due to 'issues with utilities on the site'.
The works are a part of the Canniesburn Toll Improvement project which aims to create a better 'environment for all road users'.
A spokesperson for East Dunbartonshire Council said: "Due to unforeseen issues with utilities on the site, the current road closure at Canniesburn Toll will be extended until 6pm on Monday, March 11.
"To ensure the safety of workers, the road will remain closed with current diversions also remaining in place.
"Please follow these diversions.
"We apologise for this inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
