Two men have been sentenced in connection with a targeted attack near Glasgow.

The incident happened around 2pm on Thursday, March 3, 2022 on Uddingston Main Street.
A 44-year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with serious head injuries.
At the High Court in Glasgow on Friday (February 23) Dylan Black, 29, was sentenced to six years and Ian Donnelly, 27, was sentenced to five years and eight months in connection with the assault, which led to the severe injury, permanent disfigurement and danger to life of the 44-year-old.

Detective Chief Inspector Susie Cairns said: “This was a targeted attack and I hope the conviction brings some closure for the victim.
“Black and Donnelly carried out a deliberate and brutal attack and they will now face the consequences of their actions that day.
“This kind of violence has no place in our communities and I hope this outcome sends a clear message to those involved in serious crime that we are committed to seeking out those responsible and bringing them to justice.”
