A popular Chinese takeaway near Glasgow has teased plans to open as a sit-in restaurant.

Wutong in Milngavie has launched a consultation with loyal customers in the local area.

The team are considering expanding to allow diners to eat inside the venue, which is located on Station Road.

After almost three years of operating a takeaway and delivery system due to the pandemic and staff issues, the team at the family-run eatery are considering the 'next chapter'.

A spokesperson said: "Wutong has been open since March 2021 and operated as a takeout and delivery service due to the pandemic period and staffing challenges.

"Due to the high volume of interest in dine-in experience with us from the public, we are seeking to move on to the next chapter and we would like to venture a small number of bookings at a time for those interested parties."

Local punters voiced their excitement at the possibility of Wutong opening as a restaurant.

One said: "I think you should open as a sit in your food is gorgeous and I love sitting in and enjoying the experience - I would definitely come with friends."

Another added: "Yes definitely! We always get take away from you but would like the choice of sitting in too. Love the food!"

A third chimed: "Yes please. Love the takeaways but choice of sitting in is even better."
