A man's lip burst after he was assaulted by a former prison acquaintance in Glasgow city centre.
Darren Moore, 33, was talking to a man outside a licensed premises on Sauchiehall Street just before 5am on January 19, 2023.
The entire exchange was caught on CCTV.
Moore was drunk.
Seemingly without any explanation, he struck the other person three times on the head, which resulted in him suffering a burst lip.
Police were alerted and the man was traced nearby.
Moore, of Linwood, was also located with the use of CCTV. He was arrested, cautioned and charged. He made no reply.
No medical treatment was required.

Moore appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court last week after he pleaded guilty to the assault.
His lawyer said: "This is an incident that happened in the city centre over a year ago now. He knew the man from a previous time in prison.
"This was an extremely stupid mistake. He is regretful.
"He was struggling with alcohol issues.
"He has his own tenancy. He is keeping good mental and physical health. He is using alcohol services."
Sheriff Joan Kerr addressed him: "It is a serious matter. We have a real problem with violence in our city centre and this is exactly where you lashed out."
Moore was sentenced to 225 hours of unpaid work.
