Hard Rock Cafe has spoken out on the sudden closure of its Glasgow restaurant.
We previously reported that a sign appeared at the Buchanan Street eatery indicating that the chain would not be operating 'today' amid reports that it had permanently closed.
Now bosses at the international chain have revealed that they 'regret' the Glasgow restaurant will not be open 'at this time'.
No details were given regarding what has happened to staff and if or when it will reopen.
A spokesperson said: "We regret the Hard Rock Cafe Glasgow, located at 179 Buchanan Street, will not be operating at this time, but we continue to welcome our valued guests at the Hard Rock Cafe Edinburgh, located at 20 George Street in Edinburgh, Edinburgh EH2, 2PF."
When the Glasgow Times checked Hard Rock Cafe Glasgow's booking system, they were unable to make a booking for any future date.
No staff were available to answer the phone.
Unite Hospitality had also revealed that they were working with staff affected by the closure.
Bryan Simpson, lead organiser of Unite, said: "The way in which workers at Hard Rock have been treated is morally reprehensible and almost certainly unlawful.
"For so many workers to be given so little notice is outrageous and a clear breach of well-established employment law. We will be doing everything in our power to support our members at Hard Rock to ensure they are paid everything they are entitled to.”
