A man convicted at a court in Glasgow has died in prison.
Sean McLaughlin, an inmate at HMP Addiewell, was convicted at Glasgow High Court in 2020.
The 41-year-old died on Monday, February 19, the Scottish Prison Service (SPS) has announced.
Police Scotland has been advised regarding the man's death and the matter has been reported to the procurator fiscal.
A fatal accident inquiry will be held at a later date.
A spokesperson for SPS said: "Sean McLaughlin, 41, a prisoner at HMP Addiewell has died on February 19, 2024.
"He was convicted at Glasgow High Court in 2020. Police Scotland has been advised and the matter reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
"A Fatal Accident Inquiry will be held in due course."
