A large police presence was called to a residential street after a car was seen 'hanging' from a fence.
A dramatic image shows the 4x4 dangling from a garden fence on Hawthorn Drive in Airdrie earlier this week.
Multiple cop cars were on the scene and blocking off the area while officers dealt with the bizarre discovery.
The force said the occupants of the car had left the scene when they attended.
They are following a positive line of enquiry in relation to the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.05am on Thursday, February 29, 2024, police were called to the Hawthorn Drive area of Craigneuk, Airdrie, following a report of a one-vehicle crash.
“Officers attended and it was established the occupants of the car had left the scene.
"Police are following positive lines of enquiry.”
