Activists spilled soup on two statues at Glasgow's George Square.
Members of This Is Rigged took to George Square this morning around 10.30am and sprayed fire extinguishers of soup at the statues of Queen Victoria and Prine Albert.
A spokesperson for This Is Rigged said: "Queen Vee gets split pea. These individuals directly profited from the subjugation and suffering of others - their statues were chosen as they all symbolise historic institutions of exploitation, violence and corruption.
"In 2014, the Scottish Government committed to becoming a ‘Good Food Nation’ in which quality food should be available for all.
"Now, however, a year from the deadline, and one in four Scots have experienced food insecurity since 2023, cases of children being admitted to hospital with malnutrition has doubled in a year and recorded instances of rickets are rising."
The vandalism comes after the group revealed two new demands late last year.
These include the prices of essentials such as baby formula to be reduced to March 2021 rates and the opening of one community hub per 500 households.
