A TEENAGE Celtic fan punched a police officer at the club's title party.
Christopher McLeod, 19, pounced on constable Gary Key outside Parkhead on May 27 2023.
Officers had attended the area to monitor public safety as thousands descended to celebrate the Hoops winning the Scottish Premiership title.
McLeod was noted to be drunk and officers had reason to place him into a police vehicle.
Prosecutor Caitlin O'Hare told Glasgow Sheriff Court: "Without reason, McLeod punched PC Key to the face.
"As a result he was restrained on the floor of the vehicle in handcuffs."
McLeod, of Motherwell, North Lanarkshire, pleaded guilty to assaulting PC Key.
Haroun Malik, defending, told Monday's sentencing: "There was a prevailing attitude at that time which was 'We Never Stop' but my client knows that he should have.
"He understands that it is likely that he would have been sent to Polmont.
"He relays his sincere apologies."
The Crown did not seek a football banning order.
Sheriff Mark McGuire stated that he followed the under 25 young person's sentencing guidelines which focuses on rehabilitation.
He ordered McLeod to do 135 hours of unpaid work and placed him under supervision for 12 months.
McLeod was also told to undertake alcohol counselling.
The sheriff said: "This was a nasty incident, if you engage in conduct like this again you will be sent to Polmont.
"If you breach this order, your rehabilitation becomes less of a priority."
