A teacher who faced four miscarriages in three years before giving birth to her daughter is backing a campaign by a pregnancy research charity.
Debbie Little, 35, and her husband Colin, welcomed their daughter, Sophie.
The new mum is now supporting the We See A Mum campaign by pregnancy research charity, Tommy's which shows the different ways people become parents and the struggles often endured.
Celebrities such as Amanda Holden and Myleene Klass have supported the campaign launched for Mother's Day to acknowledge mothers who have known loss, grief, and hope.
Residing in Moodiesburn, Debbie teaches at a school in Glasgow and said being a mum was "all I have ever wanted".
However, following four miscarriages, she worried it might never happen, before she came across Tommy’s National Centre for Miscarriage Research.
She said: "I wasn’t expecting miracles – I just wanted answers.
"If I wasn’t able to have children, I wanted to know that."
After several tests in Coventry, she received hormone injections, timed with her menstrual cycle, to help maintain a future pregnancy.
She was prescribed steroid treatment early into her subsequent pregnancy.
Debbie said: "By January 2022 we had another positive test - and this time our little baby stayed with us.
"This time we got to meet our little girl Sophie.”
Debbie advocates for the We See A Mum campaign to increase awareness of experiences like hers.
She said: “Tommy’s has changed our lives. We had done everything in our power to bring a little one home and just needed some extra help from this wonderful charity.
“We now have the beginnings of our wonderful family and count ourselves lucky every single day.”
