Emergency crews raced to a multi-vehicle smash on a busy Glasgow motorway this morning.
The incident occurred on the M74 motorway between Junctions 1 and 2 shortly after 6.30am on Friday, March 8.
We previously reported that during the incident lanes one and two of the southbound carriageway were blocked.
Now, officers have revealed the crash involved four vehicles.
It is unclear whether anyone was injured after the accident.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 6.30am on Friday, March 8, 2024, we received a report of a crash involving four vehicles on the M74 Junction 2.
"All lanes have re-opened and the vehicles have been recovered.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service added: “We were alerted at 6.40am on Friday, March 8, to reports of a road traffic collision on M74 between Junction one and two.
“Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene where firefighters assisted partners.
“Crews left after ensuring the area was made safe."
