East Dunbartonshire Council wants community feedback on their proposals to increase taxi availability, support local businesses and improve safety in the area.
After initial consultation with representatives of the trade, the council has put forward options for new taxi stances, designed to support local businesses and bolster the night-time economy.
The public are encouraged to visit www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk/taxi-stances and have their say before Friday, March 29.
In Bearsden, the council is considering a 24-hour taxi stance for two taxis on New Kirk Road, subject to Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) approval.
Meanwhile, in Kirkintilloch, a 'night zone' could be formed at Barleybank car park, allowing taxis to wait from 10pm to 3am.
For Milngavie, there are plans to create a two-vehicle stance plus a four-vehicle feeder rank, both at Fulton Road train station, operating round the clock, also subject to a TRO.
A 'night zone' in the Stewart Street car park could also serve the area from 10pm to 3am.
Councillor Gordan Low, council leader and the convener of the Policy and Resources Committee, said: "We're keen to engage with a range of passengers, drivers, businesses and organisations.
"Please get involved if you can.
"All feedback received will help to inform our ongoing work to improve availability of taxis, support local businesses – including the night-time economy – and improve safety."
After the consultation period, a report with the final proposals will be presented at a future meeting of the Policy and Resources Committee.
The Council is also investigating appropriate locations for a taxi stance in Bishopbriggs as part of its £34.88 million Place and Growth Programme, backed by the UK and Scottish Governments through the Glasgow City Region City Deal.
