A young man was rushed to hospital after an incident near the Glasgow Forge.
999 crews descended on the Gallowgate in the city's East End on Saturday night.
We reported that the area near the Forge Cinema was closed off due to an 'ongoing police incident'.
Cops have revealed that a 21-year-old man was assaulted.
He was taken to hospital and was later released after being treated.
An investigation has been launched into the shocking attack.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10.35pm on Saturday, March 16, police were called to a report of a 21-year-old man injured after being assaulted on Gallowgate, Parkhead, Glasgow.
"He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and released after treatment.
"Enquiries are continuing."
