A man has been rushed to hospital with a 'head injury' after allegedly being 'hit by a car' on a busy road.
The incident took place on the A721, Bellshill Road in Motherwell on Sunday, March 17, shortly after 9am.
During it, police say a 68-year-old man was 'struck by a white Ford Puma' as he crossed the carriageway on the road at the junction with Logans Road.
Following that, the 24-year-old driver of the car, who is a woman, stopped and was then 'hit' from behind by a blue-coloured Vauxhall Corsa being driven by a 29-year-old woman.
After the incident, the 68-year-old man was rushed to hospital with a head injury.
Meanwhile, the two drivers of the motors did not require any medical treatment.
A 24-year-old woman has since been arrested in connection with an alleged road traffic offence.
Now, road cops are appealing for information following the serious road crash.
Sergeant Stewart Taylor at Motherwell Road Policing Department would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who has captured it on their dashcam.
