A MAN caught with a drugs haul in a safe has been locked behind bars.
David Mitchell, 46, was snared with heroin at his home in Glasgow's Dennistoun on August 26, 2021.
The city's Sheriff Court heard that police raided the property after a warrant was granted.
Mitchell, now of the city's Springburn, was found within the living room on a couch before a search took place.
Prosecutor Lauren Sangray said: "Within a black safe was a Farmfoods polybag which was seized.
"Four knotted polybags which contained brown powder were seized.
"Disposable gloves, a list of names and numbers and spare polybags were found in the property."
The powder was tested at the time and found to be heroin.
Within the Farmfoods bag, there was a total of 188 knotted plastic packages. These were valued at £5,640.
Mitchell appeared in the dock with crutches today/yesterday where he pled guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin.
He also admitted failing to appear at a previous hearing.
His lawyer Ian Moir told the court that his client has never served time behind bars.
The sentence was deferred pending background reports until next month.
Sheriff Andrew Cubie said: "You have pled guilty to a serious matter, you will be remanded in custody in preparation of the reports."
