A cyclist has died after being hit by a HGV on a busy road near Glasgow.
The incident took place on Manse Road just after the junction with Drymen Road in Bearsden shortly after 8am on Tuesday, March 19.
999 crews rushed to the accident, however, a 56-year-old woman, who was the cyclist, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
The HGV driver, who was a man, was not injured during the crash.
Following the incident, the road was closed for several hours to allow crash investigations to take place.
It reopened shortly after 1pm.
Now, an investigation to establish the full circumstances of the crash is underway.
Meanwhile, road cops are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Sergeant Chris Hoggans, of Police Scotland’s Road Policing Unit, said: “My thoughts are with the families and friends of the deceased at this difficult time.
“I would urge anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the crash and witnessed what took place, or has any dashcam footage which could assist, to please get in touch with officers.”
A spokesperson for Police Scotland added: "Anyone with information is urged to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting reference number 0590 of March 19."
