A rider going 'almost 30mph' on a Glasgow road was found to have been using a bike that was allegedly 'modified into an e-bike'.

Glasgow officers say clocked the rider on Broomielaw late last week.

They say they found the bike had been 'modified' which required the rider to hold a licence and insurance.

A 42-year-old man has been charged in connection with multiple alleged offences, including having no licence or insurance and being in possession of class-B drugs.

The force seized the bike from the road.

A spokesperson said: "The rider of this bike was observed travelling at almost 30mph on Broomielaw by Greater Glasgow Violence Reduction Unit officers.

"The bike had been modified, now requiring the rider to hold a licence and insurance. Rider, aged 42, also in possession of class B drugs. Charged and bike seized."
