A woman is due in court following an 'incident' on a busy street as cops continue to patrol the area.
Officers responded to a report of an incident in Church Street and St Andrew's Court in Blantyre on Wednesday evening.
A cordon was in place for several hours while investigations were carried out.
No one was reported to be injured in the situation.
The force has revealed they charged a 34-year-old woman in connection.
She is due to appear in court on Saturday, March 30.
There will remain a police presence in the area and concerned locals can speak to officers who will reassure them.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "A 34-year-old woman has been arrested and charged following an incident in Church Street, St Andrew's Court in Blantyre last night.
"She is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Saturday, March 30, 2024.
"Police responded to the incident around 7.30pm. There were no reported injuries and enquiries remain ongoing.
"Additional officers are on patrol to reassure the local community and anyone with concerns can approach and speak to these officers."
