999 crews raced to a building after reports of a 'chemical smell'.
We reported that Wingate Street in Wishaw was blocked by emergency service vehicles on Thursday morning.
Firefighters and cops raced to the area following reports of a strong chemical smell coming from a building in the area.
All properties within the building were ventilated and three people were taken into ambulance care.
It is understood that the smell was related to renovation work that was going on in the building.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 6.28am on Thursday, March 28 to reports of a strong chemical smell coming from a building at Wingate Street, Wishaw.
“Operations Control mobilised four fire appliances and firefighters ventilated all properties within the building.
“Three casualties were in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and crews left the scene at approximately 8.28am after ensuring the area was made safe.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at 6.33am today to attend an incident today in Wishaw.
"We dispatched one ambulance and our special operations team to the scene.
"Three patients, one adult and two children, were treated and discharged at the scene.”
Police Scotland declined to comment.
