An emergency incident earlier today on a busy motorway has sparked rush-hour travel chaos.
Traffic Scotland has said there is currently congestion heading northbound on the M80 at Junction 5 due to a road traffic accident earlier this afternoon.
The travel firm says both lanes are now running, however, drivers are facing delay times of around 16 minutes on approach from the M73.
It is unknown if anyone was injured during the incident, however, we have contacted Police Scotland for comment.
