A man was arrested after he allegedly stole and carried an offensive weapon with him.
Five police cars were spotted on Albion Street in Merchant City this afternoon.
In pictures sent to the Glasgow Times, the vehicles can be seen, gathered at one spot.
Officers confirmed that they were called shortly before 3pm and a 39-year-old was arrested in connection with an alleged theft, being in possession of an offensive weapon and resisting arrest.

A spokesperson said: "Around 2.55pm on Monday, April 1, 2024 a 39-year-old man was arrested in Albion Street, Glasgow in connection with an alleged theft, being in possession of an offensive weapon and resisting arrest.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
