CHARGES will now be introduced for all bulk uplifts across South Lanarkshire.
This decision was made following a council funding gap of £20.5 million and the local authority will now introduce a £40 charge for all standard bulk uplift requests.
A standard lift includes the collection of up to 10 items and the council will only collect items listed in the bulk uplift form.
Non-standard uplifts such as large-scale DIY projects including renovation materials, kitchens and full bathroom suits will incur a charge of £79.54.
The council aims to collect bulky waste items on the day specified at the time of booking, but there may be occasions when it is unable to do so. In these circumstances, the council aims to pick up items within five working days of the initial collection date.
Residents can book a bulk uplift online.
