A Glasgow man kicked off after drinking four bottles of Buckfast.
John McGonigle, 41, was at his Lilybank home on December 31, 2023 and the court heard that he drank three litres of the beverage.
Police were there because of another matter but at 2.14am, they tried to engage with McGonigle and pat him down but he was shouting and swearing.
He locked the main gate to his home, in an effort to keep the officers out.
Then, it was unlocked but with his body weight, he kept it closed.
McGonigle struggled against the railing and prevented the cops from handcuffing him.
Police tried to get him into the van but he resisted. He tried to headbutt an officer but was taken to the ground.
He spat at an officer.
At this point, the Procurator Fiscal said more cops came for backup.
McGonigle shouted at one of them: “f**king p**f”.
He continued to shout abuse and was put inside the police vehicle.
He was taken to the police station where he continued to be aggressive.

McGonigle appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court last week after he pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening manner, trying to headbutt and spit on a cop and preventing them from entering his home.
His lawyer said at the hearing: "He spent New Years in custody. He consumed four bottles of Buckfast within a few hours.
"He has taken steps to address these things.
“He is happy to comply with any orders.
“He has two children."
Sheriff Allan McKay told McGonigle: "I don’t know what you expect to happen when you drink four bottles of Buckfast.
“You dealt with this relatively quickly and I got the impression that you are embarrassed by your actions.
“I have sympathy for you.”
A structured deferred sentence for imposed for six months.
