A WOMAN has been hit by a car on a major road near Glasgow.
The incident took place shortly after 4pm on Woodburn Way in Milngavie on Wednesday.
Police say they were called to a crash between a motor and a pedestrian.
Following that, the pedestrian, who is a woman, was rushed to hospital for treatment.
It comes after we reported East Dunbartonshire Council said Woodburn Way was closed between Park Road and Ellangowan Road.
The local authority said the closure was put in place shortly after 5pm.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 4.25pm on April 10, we received a report of a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Woodburn Way, Milngavie.
"The female pedestrian was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment."
