Police have issued an 'avoid the area warning' amid an ongoing emergency incident near Glasgow.
It comes after we reported Traffic Scotland said the A725 at High Blantyre has been shut in both directions.
The road has been closed due to a vehicle fire in the area.
999 crews are currently on the scene dealing with the situation.
Now, cops have urged drivers to 'avoid the area where possible'.
It is unclear if anyone has been injured during the incident.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "The A725 East Kilbride Road, Blantyre is closed in both directions following a fire which was reported to police around 12.40pm.
"Emergency services are in attendance and drivers are advised to avoid the area where possible."
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.
