The former leader of Glasgow City Council is set to co-host a new podcast on Scottish housing alongside a BBC Scotland property expert.
Steven Purcell, who was council leader from 2005 to 2010, will share hosting duties with Brian Gilmour, a BBC Scotland regular with fortnightly appearances on Kaye Adams’ morning show.
With the mission of “deconstructing the Scottish housing crisis,” The Scottish Housing Podcast will delve into all aspects of the industry, tackling the issues in an easy to understand manner.
It comes in response to four Scottish councils, including Glasgow, having formally declared housing emergencies.

As well as offering insights into the problems facing buyers, homeowners and tenants, the podcast will also explore the connections between housing and wider Scottish society, and will feature interviews with a range of experts.
Announcing the launch of the new show, Mr Purcell said: "It’s interesting to reflect on how Glasgow and Scotland has changed over the years. Housing has a direct influence on the economy, jobs and people’s incomes but also on community cohesion and how people feel about themselves every day.”
A video on YouTube teases that the podcast is coming soon.
