A Glasgow youth was honoured by Bear Grylls for achieving the highest award in scouting.
Aidan Phillips was recognised by the Chief Scout during a special event at Windsor Castle on Sunday, April 21 which was joined by Andrew Try, the Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire.
Aidan was presented with the King’s Scout Award for adventure and skill development.
It acknowledges scouts aged 16 to 25 who complete a range of challenges in the areas of community service, outdoor adventure and skill development.
Aidan said: "My King’s Scout Award has enabled me to learn so many new skills. I’ve been able to put myself out there and build myself up.
"I’ve learned teamwork, discipline and resilience. It’s been such an amazing experience that has allowed me to pass on skills to the younger scouts through my volunteering.
"It’s the pinnacle of my scouting journey as a young person and have felt it a rewarding experience that has helped my career choice."
Mr Grylls said: "I am so proud to celebrate the achievements of the King’s Scouts here today at Windsor.
"Gaining this award is the pinnacle of their scouting journey. Aidan has demonstrated courage and kindness, alongside a true Never Give Up spirit, and shown scouting values to the highest of standards.
"They’ve contributed hugely to their communities and developed many skills along the way.
"These scouts are an inspiration to us all due to their commitment, enthusiasm and hard work - I am full of pride for every single one of them."
Dwayne Fields, Scout ambassador and polar explorer, described Aidan's accomplishment as the "pinnacle achievement in Scouts."
He said: "Aidan has reached the end of an incredible journey where they have demonstrated kindness, courage and commitment.
"Their scout spirit shines so bright today here at our annual Day of Celebration and Achievement at Windsor Castle, one of the true highlights of the Scout year.
"Aidan is one of our leaders of the future and it’s humbling and inspiring to be alongside them on such a special day."
The annual Windsor Castle event has been held since 1934 on the Sunday nearest to St. George's Day.
Scouts were joined by fellow ambassadors Ellie Simmonds and Warwick Davis.
