A pensioner has died after he was found injured prompting a police investigation.
The 89-year-old was discovered in the Stonelaw Road area of Rutherglen this morning at around 6.40am.
Police said 999 crews attended and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The residential area, which includes retirement housing, remains taped off while police investigate how the man died with officers guarding the scene.
So far police have revealed his death is being treated as unexplained.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 6.40am on Wednesday, May 1, to a report of a man found injured in the Stonelaw Road area of Rutherglen.
“Emergency services attended and an 89-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but not believed to be suspicious. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
