A popular Glasgow restaurant has raised over £1,000 during a feast it cooked up at the city’s Army Personnel Centre to support SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
Satty Singh of Mr Singh’s India dished out chicken bhuna and chickpea dhal during the event which raised nearly £1,100 to fund SSAFA’s work in Scotland.
Mike, a SSAFA Glasgow and Renfrewshire volunteer who organised the lunch, said: "I’m just delighted at how much was raised.
“Sadly, we’ve all seen those in the Armed Forces community – serving or retired, regulars or reserves, or their families – who are struggling, but SSAFA knows that no one should have to battle on alone and this £1,100 will go towards making sure that we’re there in Scotland to help people when and where we need to.”
RSM Nigel Saul, a recent participant in the Glasgow Kiltwalk for SSAFA, said: “I’d just like to say a big personal thank you for your support with the event, I have had many people speak to me and say it was a fantastic event and great to see it back in the building.”
