Three people have been rushed to hospital after a car crash on a busy Glasgow road.

The incident took place on Carntyne Road in the city's East End shortly after 8.30am on Tuesday, May 14.

999 crews attended the scene.

In total, the crash involved two vehicles.

Following that, three people were taken to hospital.

Meanwhile, a woman has been reported for an alleged road traffic offence.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 8.40am on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, we received reports of a two-vehicle crash on Carntyne Road, Glasgow.

“Emergency services attended and three people were taken to hospital as a precaution.

“One female driver has been reported for a road traffic offence.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were alerted at 8.55am on Tuesday, May 14, to reports of a collision involving three cars on Carntyne Road, Glasgow.

"Operations control immediately mobilised two appliances to the scene.

"Firefighters extracted one casualty from a car and handed them into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service, along with two other casualties.

"Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe."
