A pregnant Glasgow mum-to-be claims neighbours have been complaining about her shower.

Courtney Kimmins has had people chap her door because of loud banging coming from her Cardonald property.

The 24-year-old explained plumbing problems, believed to be an air blockage, has left her shower causing issues for months.

She reported the problem to Wheatley Homes in December last year, but the housing association said they have had trouble accessing her property to resolve it.

Courtney, who is 18 weeks pregnant, said: “I'm getting neighbours chapping my door for the shower being so loud.

“I was a chef before I took leave to be pregnant and I would get complaints showering late at night after my shift.

“It gives out water but the drainage noise is the issue, it sounds like banging and isn’t normal there is something wrong with my pipes.”

Courtney also claims to have reported several other repairs at her studio flat including mould and “crumbling” kitchen flooring issues.

However, Wheatley Homes insisted they were not alerted to these issues until this week.

She said: “I have been complaining to Wheatley but my repairs have not been resolved. I am also having issues with my crumbling kitchen floor.

“I don’t think this property is fit for me or my baby, I want all these repairs sorted or to be moved out as soon as possible.

“I don’t feel like I am being listened to and it is causing stress for me and my unborn child.”

A Wheatley Homes Glasgow spokesperson said: “It’s simply not the case to claim these issues have been going on for a year.

“The tenant got in touch last December to raise issues about the plumbing, but she wasn’t at home when we arranged an inspection.

“We asked the tenant to get back in touch to arrange a new date for this to be carried out, which she did only last week.

“Our teams were also out at the beginning of the year to replace the radiator.

“The first we were aware about issues with the flooring was earlier this week [Tuesday].

“We’ll continue to keep in touch with the tenant and arrange for any additional repairs to be carried out as soon as we can.”
