The new operators of a petrol station in Bishopbriggs have secured a provisional license for the sale of alcohol.
Motor Fuel Ltd is taking over the station at Morrisons supermarket in South Crosshill Road as part of a larger deal between the companies.
As the license held by Morrisons was temporary, Motor Fuel were advised that a new application would have to be granted by East Dunbartonshire Licensing Board instead of it being transferred to the new operator.
A company representative said that Motor Fuel would create new jobs as a result of the current Morrisons employees who work at the station transferring to the new, larger store which is due to open in July.
In addition to selling fuel the petrol station also functions as a convenience store. Its off-sales hours are 10am until 10pm daily and the total area which may be used for this purpose is just over 21 square metres.
The application also covered permission to play background music and the ability to make deliveries to customers.
