'Luxury' flats could be built on a vacant Glasgow city centre land.

A planning application has been submitted for a residential development on Blythswood Street.

The building is planned on the corner of Sauchiehall Lane.

It would contain six homes, each with two bedrooms and two bathrooms for four people.

Papers also said: "Five of the apartments will be provided with a private external amenity space.

"The top-floor apartment has the benefit of having direct access to the roof level and a large private terrace.

"Each apartment has a large open-plan living space, offering flexible layouts and the opportunity to create a home working area. Residents' amenity space is also provided at the ground floor in the form of a gym."

Applicant Videre Developments Ltd described the flats as a "unique luxury residential development".

The site is currently vacant, previously having been used as garages.

The building would have a "restrained material palette of stone, brickwork and metal cladding at upper levels", reflecting the surroundings.

Glasgow City Council's planning committee is reviewing the bid and a decision is expected by Tuesday, July 2.
