Two sisters-in-law are bringing home care delivery services to people living in Glasgow.
Sammira and Sumaira Iqbal launched the services with their new venture SureCare Glasgow after being inspired by Sammira's grandmother's journey with dementia.
The duo wanted to help their local community and decided to open up one of the first two SureCare franchises in Scotland.
SureCare, founded in 1994, allows people to continue living at home by offering a diverse range of care and support services.
Sammira, who previously worked in the property sector, said: "We wanted to start a business which can make a difference in the local community.
"We’re looking to help a wide range of people, including older or vulnerable people who need reliable home care services as well as busy parents needing childcare support.
“My grandmother had dementia in the later stages of her life and it got to the point where she had to go into a care home.
"I remember thinking at the time that there had to be a different way to offer high quality care which allows people to stay in their home setting for as long as possible.
“We’ve had a lot of positive feedback from people who agree and say they would feel reassured that a loved one is being looked after in their own home.
“We’re very excited to be one of the first two SureCare franchises to open in Scotland and we’ve got lots of ideas for the business."
Their business will offer home services, light housekeeping, cleaning, shopping, companionship, gardening, and handyman work.
They are also in the process of obtaining a Care Inspectorate registration to enable them to offer domiciliary care, live-in care, respite and holiday care, and dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
Sumaira, a solicitor by profession, said: “One of the reasons why we chose a SureCare franchise is because our service can help people to stay in their own homes, rather than go into a care home.
"They’re also a family business, like us.
“We’ve got a real passion to provide quality home care to our clients and quality really is at the heart of everything we do.”
The sisters-in-law have an office in the heart of Glasgow on Somerset Place.
From here, they deliver care services across Glasgow and nearby regions, including North and South Lanarkshire, East and West Dunbartonshire, and Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire.
Gary Farrer, managing director of SureCare, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Sammira and Sumaira on board as one of our first franchisees in Scotland.
"We love their commitment to providing the best possible care to clients, something that is central to the SureCare ethos.”
