A man was seen in the same street where a plush Mercedes was smashed.
The windscreen of the white A Class was targeted in the Greenhill Crescent area of Linwood at around 6pm on Wednesday evening.
Officers investigating the crime have determined that there was a man in the area at the time.
He is described as 6ft tall, of slim build, and was wearing a black tracksuit with a hood, a snood and a black baseball cap.
The force is now urging anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
People with CCTV or dashcam footage may also hold answers to who is responsible.
Those with information are urged to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 3790 of Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
