A man has died after being hit by a car in Cumbernauld.
The 49-year-old was struck by a black Citroen C4 on Greenfaulds Road at around 8.10am on Sunday, May 26.
999 crews raced to the scene and we previously reported the road was closed by officers for several hours.
The man was taken to hospital in an ambulance but he later died there.
The car driver was not injured and the road re-opened at around 1.50pm.
Cops are now trying to establish what happened in the crash and are urging anyone who witnessed the events to get in contact.
Sergeant Chris McColm of Lanarkshire Road Policing said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who has died and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“We are asking anyone who saw what happened or who might have dash-cam footage that could assist with our investigation to get in touch.
“If you can help please call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1067 of Sunday, May 26, 2024.”
