A dog has been killed after 'attacking' a man in Airdrie.
Police say they received a report of a disturbance in the South Bridge Street area of the town shortly after 10.30pm on Tuesday, May 28.
999 crews raced to the scene.
During the incident, it is understood a 40-year-old man was allegedly bitten by a dog.
He was then taken to Monklands Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, a 33-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the Dangerous Dog Act.
The force has also said the dog - a Staffordshire Bull Terrier - has been put down.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Around 10.40pm on Tuesday, May 28, we received a report of a disturbance in the South Bridge Street area of Airdrie.
“A 40-year-old man was bitten by a dog and attended Monklands Hospital for treatment.
“A 33-year-old woman has been charged in connection with the Dangerous Dogs Act.
“The dog, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was euthanised.”
