A woman was raped in a car park in Hamilton town centre - as cops launch a hunt for a white van.
Police say the incident is believed to have taken place within the Keith Street Car Park shortly after 3am on Saturday, May 25.
Officers investigating the serious sexual assault have said they are keen to track down a white van which was parked in the area.
The force believes it is linked to the attack.
Now, cops are keen to speak to anyone with information on the incident.
Detective Inspector Gary Smillie said: “This incident took place shortly after the closure of a nearby nightclub, so we know there will have been a number of people and taxis in the area.
“We are keen to speak with anyone who was in the Keith Street area on Saturday night, as well as any taxis or other motorists who may have dashcam footage.
“We understand this is an extremely concerning incident and we are conducting increased high-visibility patrols in the area.
“Any information could prove vital to our investigation, so please call police on 101, quoting incident 0807 of May 28, 2024.
"Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
